About me.

I am interested in understanding how individual human experiences can help us interpret larger social processes in new ways. My previous work has picked apart abstract concepts — like craft, labor, skill, and knowledge — to celebrate the human elements that sustain them and critique societal tendencies to ignore those elements. I use these insights to bring a unique perspective to research and strategic thinking that is both patient and penetrating.

Based in the Twin Cities, I recently earned my PhD in the history of science and technology from the University of Minnesota. Overall, I have ten years of experience and training with critical thinking, research, writing, teaching, and learning how to learn. I am adept at gathering information; analyzing ideas, taking them apart and putting them back together; strategizing how small details impact broad patterns; and effectively communicating complex arguments in clear language.

In my free time I write music, pet cats, play board games, and eat ice cream.
